The GridWise Alliance announces its new Board of Directors

Washington D.C. – December 18, 2018 – The GridWise Alliance today announced 13 new and returning members to its Board of Directors, all of whom are strongly committed to advancing the organization’s efforts to build and expand activities to support modernizing our Nation’s electric grid.

“I look forward to supporting the leadership of our new Board of Directors and continuing our thought leadership on critical grid modernization issues with key industry stakeholders,” said Steve Hauser, CEO of the GridWise Alliance. “The diversity within our Board of reflects the range of stakeholders within the Alliance who are dedicated to ensuring America’s electricity grid supports our economy’s changing needs.

The new and returning GridWise Alliance Board members, who will serve two-year terms, include:

  • Mike Bates
    Global General Manager, Energy, Intel Corporation, elected to second term;
  • Steven Greenley
    Vice President, Electric Distribution Operations, CenterPoint Energy
  • David Koogler
    Vice President, Member Services and External Affairs, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative
  • John McDonald
    Smart Grid Business Development Leader, GE Power’s Grid Solutions Business, elected to a second term,
  • Susan Mora
    Director, Utility Initiatives, Exelon Corporation, elected to a second term;
  • Asaf Nagler
    Senior Director, Government Relations, ABB;
  • Sunil Pancholi
    Director, Energy Strategy, Lockheed Martin Corporation, elected to a second term;
  • Rob Pratt
    Manager, Distribution and Demand Response Sub-Sector, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), elected to a second term;
  • Ronny Sandoval
    Senior Director, Grid Modernization, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), elected to a second term;
  • Ram Sastry
    Vice President, Enterprise Innovation and Resiliency, American Electric Power (AEP), elected to a second term;
  • Michele Tihami
    Country Manager and Business Line Director, DNV GL
  • Wade Troxell
    Director, Platte River Power Authority; Mayor, City of Fort Collins, CO, elected to a second term; and
  • Rob Wilhite
    Managing Director, Navigant Consulting

 

In addition, Calvin G. Butler Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), will ascend to the role of Chair of the Board of Directors on January 1, 2019, following the completion of CenterPoint Energy President and CEO Scott Prochazka’s term as Chair.

“I look forward to continuing to grow both the role and impact of the GridWise Alliance on the changing electric industry,” said Calvin G. Butler Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) and incoming Chair of the GridWise Alliance. “I extend sincere thanks to Scott for his leadership and am excited to lead GridWise as it continues to drive grid modernization in support of evolving customer needs.”
